Resting Comfortable now...

The babies stayed in the warming box, while Amber went to do all her business...
]
The double A battery for size comparison again...

Then they all snuggled down for a good sleep!

I was sooo fortunate this morning that my friend Lesley popped over with a coffee for me, right before Amber started delivering. She is a neo-natal nurse, so she stuck around to provide the extra pair of hands that are so welcome when puppies arrive this quickly - thanks my dear!!

Of course, it is also a great help to have someone to take the pictures, while my hands are otherwise occupied. Amber was all done (and sleeping) by lunch time, so Lesley and I had a quick lunch, then I had a quick nap. My children are coming out this evening and my son will spend the weekend - ah! It is grand to have friends and family when you need them!!

Wow! A surprise...

Here she goes AGAIN!!

Puppy 6 was another female...

And surprise!! Puppy SEVEN (and last) was another male! Another white one!

All seven pups were quick to latch on and get feeding~

We let then feed for a while, then cleaned up the pen, gave Amber a little "bath", a toilet break and a quick refreshment break before she returned...

Baby # 5 arrives!

Baby number 5 was another boy...

Amber got some well deserved loving at this point! He was the largest pup - at 159 grams.

And the sweet little boy latched on quickly...

So, I brought the others over as well - four red/browns... (three males and a female)

and the little white gal!

And then there was four!

Baby number three was another boy...

Then an albino girl surprised us... what a cutie!

Bella was watching closely, from the doorway.

Four beautiful little pups!

But wait... she's not done yet!!

Amber's Babies arrive!

Amber had been having minor contractions for a while yesterday and about 1am this morning she woke me up by laying on my head! ha ha It was quickly apparent to me that she was in labor, (haven't heard heavy breathing in my ears for a long time now lol)

We migrated to the whelping box, in the den, about 6 am and by 8:30 she was ready to start pushing.

She was pretty surprised when this little one "popped out" of her, at 9:17 !

Did I do that?? ha ha...

The little boy was followed quickly by a little girl (lighter one here)

The Dogs Have Visitors!

Catherine and Bill bought their dog, Mo-Mo, from me a few years ago and are back to get a second dog now. They came over to visit last night and got in some good cuddles with the girls!

Amber's tummy is rather tight, so you can really feel the pups wiggling around in there. (No - I don't know how many...) You can tell she is eating up the attention! lol

You can tell the tummies are getting a bit uncomfortable for them now...

Ha! Would help if she picked a bigger bed to lie in - she fits here easily when she does not have a big tummy... I am sure any woman who has had babies can relate to this - gets harder to curl up!

The girls spent a lot of time out in the sun today - a bit windy, and still cool but they love the sunshine...

Bella- being a good girl and just enjoying the sunshine indoors...
Amber was feeling a bit "off" today - nauseous and clingy, and I think she is starting to feel some minor contractions, but it may still be a week to go... Both Mommas-to-be spent lots of time sleeping too... getting ready for the work ahead! Good for me - allows me time to get set up and ready as well...

Loving Life...

The joy and abandon they express, while we explore here, is so amazing to watch...

Pondering a leap! Good thing I was watching... the imp would have tried it, I'm sure!

Ha ha... trying to tell me something Brandy?? Think she knows I stash the liver treats in my pocket here - that is the magic trick for getting them to come when called, by the way...

Yes Mom! That is exactly what I want... Now please!

Ha ha ha - Can you tell they ALL love them?? I make it a game, for them to come when they are called - then they get the treat... and they have to sit and take it gently from my hands - good training for whenever grandchildren come... (just dreaming here)

The Tree Fun!

The "kids" and I found this lovely tree... with some interesting fungus growing on it.

The two young ones decided to climb up it and see what was at the end - Lhasas sure like the heights!

Okay, so I guess there was not much interesting to see?? They got to the end, then looked around, then Amber came back down.

Not my adventurous little Belly-button though! And... now Momma is heading up to get her little girl to come back down!

Ha ha... It is so funny to "read" into their actions... I DO wonder what goes through their heads at times...

Such a big playground!

Look how beautiful it was...

Brandy and Amber were watching Bella run around...

Then Amber and Bella had a game of chase...

Can you see the wheels turning here?

Yup! The shortest distance is straight thru the mud! ha ha... Needless to say, they all had baths today! Then I tackled some yardwork. Wonder how long this glorious weather will last??

Ah! This is the life...

Now, does she look happy, or what?!

Even in the forest it was hot out - 28 degrees in April is rather unheard of!

Yeah - poor Amber was panting too. Yes, I did bring water for them and they had some - just had to get right back to the running around after each drink!

see what I mean??

Oh, but they sure had fun!
