The Proud Grandma to be...

My darling daughter, Angela and her sweetie, Jason came to have Christmas dinner with me...

It is always so nice to have them visit... but this time was especially nice - because my daughter could take some pictures for me - to show you something special...

Don't know if any of you have noticed Amber's tummy, in recent pictures, so I thought I would just cuddle her for a while, so you can see what is happening here...

Yes! My darling girl AMBER is pregnant and due to have puppies around the 10th of January 2012... Can you tell how pleased I am?! I have really missed having little puppies around here...

What a long night!

Poor Brandy laboured long and hard... It may have been tough for me to stay awake all night to be available to help her, but she was the one doing the work...

Amber's babies were all snuggled up and sleeping...

Till she crawled in the pen with them! She is getting wise to the ways of feeding so many pups... good thing as they will be rather draining on her later - hope she weans early!

Ah! Finally - the look of determination as she starts to bear down...

And Amber's pups all settle for a long night...

Brandy is in Labour...

Poor Brandy has been labouring since 10 am this morning. It is now almost midnight and I think she has been "holding them in" to make it to tomorrow. Ha ha! I said she was going to have them Thursday, because Catherine came over and rubbed her tummy, like she did to Amber - and it looks like it will be true~

Her favorite spot these days...

I figure she is due around the 6th or 7th of May, but it looks like she is rather full as well... She spends a lot of time resting lately - can you blame her? Could be the 25 degree weather and high humidity as well - she prefers cooler weather, as do I. (or at least less humid). I hate to use the A/C with newborn pups in the house...

This is her second favorite spot these days... outdoors watching me...

The Dogs Have Visitors!

Catherine and Bill bought their dog, Mo-Mo, from me a few years ago and are back to get a second dog now. They came over to visit last night and got in some good cuddles with the girls!

Amber's tummy is rather tight, so you can really feel the pups wiggling around in there. (No - I don't know how many...) You can tell she is eating up the attention! lol

You can tell the tummies are getting a bit uncomfortable for them now...

Ha! Would help if she picked a bigger bed to lie in - she fits here easily when she does not have a big tummy... I am sure any woman who has had babies can relate to this - gets harder to curl up!

The girls spent a lot of time out in the sun today - a bit windy, and still cool but they love the sunshine...

Amber was feeling a bit "off" today - nauseous and clingy, and I think she is starting to feel some minor contractions, but it may still be a week to go... Both Mommas-to-be spent lots of time sleeping too... getting ready for the work ahead! Good for me - allows me time to get set up and ready as well...
