Notice in this picture that the little black boy's nose is starting to take on its black pigmentation already... most pups are born with pink noses and pink foot pads, which darken and turn black eventually.
Because they are born blind and deaf, the pups use their noses to sniff out the milk - they are not being mean, when they push each other off the nipples - they are just hungry. With eight nipples and eight pups, there will a constant "battle for the boob", until I can start supplementing them with puppy food in a few more weeks. Sure keeps me busy making sure they all get a good latch...
Gets a bit crowded at the milk bar too - when one decides to have a snooze on Momma!
Check out the cute ears too - this one is flopping right out from the sides of her head already... lol
FYI - the little pup in the middle here - brown and white with the brown spot on it's head is a male. He is lying on top of the other male here - the black one, with the big white diamond on the back of his neck. You can see him well in the first two pictures on this post. All the rest are females...
Oh Donna....I can see how much they've grown in less than a week! They a filling out nicely....and Amber looks great. they are beautiful.
